It must be short. The first paragraph should include the end of his letter. The second paragraph should contain a brief summary of the story. Be sure to give enough information, but not yet. The third paragraph should contain a brief biography about yourself. Remember, the training, his recent publications, and what do you think is relevant for publication. Finally, a normal final statement and thanked the editor of his time.
Do not forget to include your name, address, phone number and e-mail address contained in the letter. Also be sure to follow specific guidelines to the editor in May.
Follow the usual format of the Sender ID by the recipient, salutation, subject line, and write briefly the contents of "I'm so .. so ... I will send an article to be included in the competition followed by - -- - -. Please note and consider. Close the letter with a word of thanks and greetings, signs Thats all
In short, the point taken - you can write a good letter in less than three sentences, and editors / judges will be grateful, because it is occupied. The less time one of your letter to read, the more time they spend reading your story. Impressed by their ability to develop a short letter and are already before the game. Here is a site with a good example: http://www.sfwriter.com/ow09.htm
